Information we collect

When you submit a nomination, we collect:

• Nominee information, including name and location
• Your name and email address as the nominator
• Whether you are nominating yourself
• Any website or social profile information you share
• Your explanation of why we should talk to the nominee
• Limited technical and security information reasonably collected to prevent spam and abuse, such as submission timing and basic request data

We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal information beyond what the form requests.

How we use it

• To review and evaluate nominations
• To contact nominators or nominees about a nomination
• To operate and administer Interesting Queers
• To maintain appropriate internal records
• To prevent spam, misuse, and abuse

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list based on a nomination.

Nominating someone else

If you nominate another person, please only share information you reasonably believe they would be comfortable with. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee that we will contact the nominee or publish anything about them.

Storage and access

Nominations are stored privately in our systems and are not visible to other visitors. Access is limited to people working on Interesting Queers. We keep nominations only as long as needed for the purposes described above.

Service providers

We use third-party hosting and infrastructure providers to operate this site and store submissions. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies or nonessential tracking. Only the technical requests required to load the page and submit the form are made.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct or delete a nomination you submitted, or a nomination about you, by replying to any message we send you. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes

We may update this policy as Interesting Queers develops. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
